I’m really not even sure where to begin with this post.
Last year, a good friend messaged me “Hey, you wanna play a Russian Music Festival?”
“Sure,” I said. “Will they cover flights and transportation?”
“LOL. It’s in the Catskills!”
Much to our delight, the event was about a 40 minute drive from my colonial farm in Durham, NY, which made for a beautiful drive to a magical location that hosted the 6th annual JetLag Festival. We pitched a tent, and let the fun begin on its own. We went on sometime around midnight and I ended our time slot with a DJ set. Great fun was had by all, and we swore our allegiance to the closest thing I’ve encountered to Burning Man on the East Coast. I think we were some of the only non-russians there, and we were welcomed in like long lost family. We promised to return!
About a week ago, I received a new message from that same friend:
“Hello guys! It’s my great pleasure to invite you to JetLag-2015. June 19-20, same campground, BUT we’re no longer Solstice Camp — we’re Solstice Island, having taken simply THE best location — the “island.”
The “Island” rests in the middle of a beautiful creek surrounded by trees and inside a small flood zone that dries up in the summer (i.e. a perfect place to hear great music all night, dance your night away, and without a worry of disturbing other areas that want to sleep).
So … without further ado, I would like to announce Science Vs Nature is one of the headliners at one of the BEST outdoor festivals in NY State, if not the East Coast. No hype. No BS. Nothing fake or candy coated. This is a real deal, Burning Man style event, and we can’t wait to experience it again!
